The Carver Hot Embossing system allows to hot emboss thermoplastic polymers. The two plates can be heated at different temperatures, up to 200C, and it's possible to apply up to 15tons (1000lbs minimum). The equipment has been successfully tested with PC, PMMA, COC-COP, PTFE, PE, to mention some materials. It can be used with silicon, epoxy, glass, aluminum or nickel molds depending on the desired feature size and gives a perfect replica of the mold on your sample. The Carver Hot Embossing System is located inside the PDMS Clean Space in Lab 1414.
