Introduction to CNC micro milling
The `Introduction to CNC micro milling’ course will guide users with background in CAD though the CAM and CNC milling prototyping process. The course provides all of the background knowledge and learning resources necessary to start work on the CNC micro mill. Note that the main purpose of the CNC micro mill in Nano3 is for microfluidic projects.
The training consists of: a classroom discussion, CAD/CAM workshop sessions, and hands-on operation of the CNC micro mill. Each trainee will fabricate his/her own part. The training is done on 2-3 days, 3-5 hours daily. At the end of the training, each trainee that is qualified will be presented a Nano3 CNC milling certificate.
There is a maximum of 4 spots for each training course – first come, first served. The training fee is $330 for UC System users, $479 for "Not for profit (US)" users, and $1,008 for "For profit and Non-US Entities" users. Please remember that you must complete all Nano3 access requirements before you can sign up for this training. For full participation in this course you will need a laptop with access to Fusion 360 – a CAD/CAM software which is free for students.
The training sessions will be scheduled based on demand.
